There are very few places in the UK that get us quite as excited as Otherside London. While there are thousands of shops that are dedicated to cannabinoids, we have yet to come across another that has the energy, passion or knowledge of Otherside.
Because there was such a buzz in the canna community about this shop, we decided to purchase an oil and write a review.
We loved Otherside so much that we have included it on our list of the best CBD oils from the UK.
Who Are Otherside London?
Otherside London is a cannabinoid dispensary based in the buzzing streets of Nottinghill. It is seemingly owned by Geshe (or Pancho- the dog – who seems to be the more popular of the two) and is run by a number of staff members who regularly take over the social media.
The shop is well known in the cannabis and drum and bass community as it is as much a cannabis shop, as it is a music venue. The shop regularly hosts DJs and musicians who are live-streamed and recorded. On the right day, the shop has so much energy that you came for the cannabis content and stayed for the music and community.
Back onto the CBD, the shop sells a huge range of products from some of the biggest brands in the UK: they stock vapes (High Kind, CBDiablo, Vaay and more), gummies (like Paso), CBD creams and CBD oils. It is the Otherside London CBD oil that we are interested in today.
What are the Products like?
Otherside London has two CBD oils on offer – a normal hemp seed oil, and one with a blend of turmeric, ginger, black pepper and cinnamon. The choice was obvious for us.
The shipping of the package was very quick (with DPD) and the packaging was very nice. We even got a bunch of stickers and flyers which was a nice touch. The packaging and the bottle were very nice and felt premium which is very unusual for a CBD brand. Often the box is tacky.
The oil itself contains the ‘golden trio’ of botanicals for recovery and actually gives the oil a really nice flavour. The combination (along with CBD) is designed it reduce inflammation and to enhance recovery. The black pepper supercharges the turmeric and increases the bioavailability by up to 2000%.
After checking the ingredients the attention to detail with this oil is exceptional. It uses C8 MCT Oil (thought to be a cleaner version of the full blend of MCTs) and cannabis-derived terpenes. Interestingly, the terpenes are often overlooked by most consumers, and the fact that the guys have gone to the lengths of adding cannabis-derived terpenes is a huge bonus. They have their own benefits and cannabis-derived terpenes have much more synergy than natural or botanical terpenes.
The only sticking point we’d say is the oil is not that strong. There are two strengths 750mg (2.5%) and 15000mg (5%). As a very regular CBD user, you may find you’re not getting enough.
In Conclusion
Would we recommend purchasing the Otherside London CBD? Yes. We certainly would. Not only is the oil great but the family feel to the way Otherside is run makes it well worth spending the money.
