More About the Monkey Blood Strain
The Monkey Blood Strain (Or Monkeyblood) is one of the most interesting stains that we have written about. It is currently huge in the UK’s underground cannabis market but there really isn’t too much information out there.
Most of the information that can be found about this strain are either hidden within streams of comments on Reddit, or forums such as UK420.
We will try our best to get all of this information in one place.
There are a few theories as to where this strain comes from but what we know for sure is that the strain is a Cross Hybrid from BudDoctor. All of the strains from the mysterious and legendary BudDoctor are UK born which may explain the lack of open research into the terpene profile, and accurate information about the cannabinoid content. From the amount of rumble that these strains cause online, you know that the buds are worth their weight in gold…. even better if you can grab seeds.
It is said that the Monkey Blood Strain comes from crossing another BudDoctor hybrid, Strawberry Crusha, with the famous GG4. Two dominant indica strains which explains a lot about Monkey (From Gorrilla) Blood (Strawberries are red?). Who knows where the name comes from.
To look at the buds are dense and almost solid with resin and trichomes – almost waxy to the touch and some users have described the bud almost melting when it is smoked. The buds are olive green with a splash of purple shining through which is caused by the pigmentation in the strain and cold cultivation. Some images show the strain as completely purple, others with only a tiny amount.
Unlike many of the strains we write about, we have not tried Monkey Blood so we need to rely on the information we have access to. From researching Strawberry Crusha strain we know that it is deeply fruity and GG4 has a thick herbal chem funk which comes down from the chem linage. From what we have read the Blood Monkey strain has a flavour quite like that of Stardawg (another UK strain) and is harsh on the intake.
As the strain is an indica and we know that the effects are very heavy, sleepy and relaxing. The strain is said to be particularly strong which is quite common with strains in the UK: we like it strong!
