How to Mix CBD Oil with Vape Juice?

The simple answer to the question How to mix CBD oil with vape juice, is simply that you don’t. Please don’t think I am talking rubbish and try it anyway. Unless you want to ruin your precious vape pen or burn your face off, mixing CBD oil with vape juice is not a good idea. CBD oils and Vape Oils are different.

It is a misconception that CBD oil can be vaped just like vape oil. Vape oil is a specific mixture of other oils that are designed to be vapourised and inhaled. If you try to add something like hemp oil, or MCT oil to your pen it will burn up, be potentially very bad for your health or blow up your pen. The question you should be asking is ‘How can I add CBD to vape Juice’, or ‘How can I make my own CBD vape juice’? Now those we can help you with.

How to make your own CBD Eliquid / Vape Oil?

You only really need a couple of ingredients to make this work: Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerol, optional Nicotine liquid, optional flavourings and some Isolated CBD. If you wish, you can add other products such as CBD crumble, or wax, which will be created its own dynamic flavours and cannabinoid profile, but we will be using CBD isolate for this example to make it easy. PG & VG are the carrier oils you need to be using as the base for your vape oil, if you use another oil it may be too heavy or not combust properly… therefore clogging up your machine.

The first thing you need to do is add the Vegetable Glycerol to the Propylene Glycol in a beaker. If you are an experienced DIY vape oil user, then you will already know your own ratio, but if you are new to this it may be best to start with a 50:50 ratio and experiment to refine your tastes.

The process of adding CBD is the fun part. What you need is a thermometer, and big beaker, a big pot of boiling water and some patience. Work out how much CBD vape oil you want to create and add the mixture of PG & VG to the beaker. Place this beaker of oil into a big pan of boiling water so that it is at least half submerged- put on the hob to slowly increase the temperature. Stir the oil constantly until you get it to a resting 60 degrees and add your CBD. When calculating how much CBD you need, you should calculate how many bottles you are making. Work out the concentration in MGs so that you don’t make the vape oil too potent, or pointlessly weak.

Once the CBD isolate has been added, stir slowly until the crystals have completely dissolved. This may take some time so have patience. You also need to keep a close eye on the temperature so that it stays at a constant 50 degrees and that you stir constantly.

Once the CBD has dissolved, you need to wait until the oil cools back down too room temperature so that it can be bottled, or put into your vape pen right away!
